5,902 Beautiful Photos of a New York Recycling Plant [VIDEO]

Ever wondered what happens to your paper and cardboard waste after it gets picked up by the recycling truck? This mesmerizing piece of environmental artwork has the answer. From an unlikely source - the New York City Department of Sanitation - the clip is comprised of 5,902 separate images, and takes us on a journey through the paper recycling process, from domestic collection in trucks all the way to final production. The photographs were shot by NYC Sanitation's Director of Photography Michael Anton, and flawlessly edited into a four-minute clip.
To make the viewing experience that little bit more enjoyable, the stop motion clip features a smooth, jazzy soundtrack - Duke Ellington's "Limbo Jazz."
Have you sorted your recyclables this week?
